Registeting a VMware VM to vCenter inventory

If you have removed your VM from vCenter inventory and wondering how to register it back, here are the steps: 1. login to vCenter and choose the host that was hosting your VM previously 2. Browse the datastore that contains the VM files 3. Choose the VM directory and find the .vmx file 4. Right click on .vmx file and choose "Add to inventory" 5. Follow the on screen instructions until you add the VM. Then you can see the VM in vCenter.

Run a Linux command repeatedly

If you would like to issue a Linux command every X second, "watch" command is the solution. Example: Issuing netstat command every 2 seconds: # watch -n2 "netstat -an|head -25"
